New Runway

Distinguished guests, visitors and members of the 140th Wing, Colorado Air National Guard, cut the ribbon at a grand opening ceremony in hangar 909 to celebrate the newly reconstructed Runway 14/32 located at Buckley Air Force Base, Aurora, Colo., October 18, 2014. After months of planning and construction and dedicated work from the 140th Civil Engineer Squadron and local contracting companies, the base runway was completed and a celebration ensued. During a three-month portion of the construction, all flying operations relocated to Denver International Airport and continued uninterrupted support to the Aerospace Control Alert mission 24/7 throughout the transition to DIA and back to Buckley AFB.
