EOD Promotion
U.S. Air National Guard Airman 1st Class Darrell Linkus,140th Explosive Ordinance Disposal specialist, is promoted to Senior Airman March 9, 2014 at Airburst Range, Fort Carson, Colo. In honor of his promotion, a "holloywood shot" was conducted in which a small amount of explosives creates a large fire display. EOD specialists regularly employ tools like C4 and robots, as well as classified techniques to dispose of explosives, whether they are decommissioned missiles on base or roadside bombs in the field.
