Never too late
U.S. Air Force Maj. Perry Jefferson's name is etched into the Vietnam Veteran's Memorial in Washington, D.C. Jefferson, an intelligence officer with Colorado Air National Guard's 120th Tactical Fighter Squadron, went missing in action in Vietnam April 3, 1969, while working as an aerial observer on board an O-1G Bird Dog aircraft over a mountainous region in Ninh Thuan Province. His remains were interred at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., April 3, 2008. In the weeks leading to Memorial Day 2008, the cross next to his name on the wall was etched into a diamond, signifying his belated repatriation. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by 1st Lt.
