It's True: Guard members get a Free Ride Published Nov. 14, 2008 By SrA Carrie Bradley 140th WG/PA Buckley Air Force Base, Colo. -- There is such a thing as a free ride--for the military in Denver, including Guard members. The Regional Transportation District (RTD) Board of Directors recently approved a resolution extending through December 31, 2009, the allowance for all U.S. military personnel to ride free on all Denver-area RTD services. The RTD Free Rides program for military began October 2006. The benefit will continue to include all light rail and bus services and Access-A-Ride, Bronco ride and Sky Ride. Those using RTD do not have to be in uniform; they must only show their white military photo ID. For route and schedule information, call RTD's telephone information center at (303) 299-6000 or visit RTD's website at www.RTD-Denver.com.
