140 CES supports the Navajo Communities in Arizona and New Mexico

Colorado Air National Guard Senior Airman Cody Elfring, 140th Civil Engineer Squadron, works in the crawl space below a Hogan (a traditional Navajo home that will be used to house families with special needs children) as a part of the St. Michaels Association for Special Education - Innovative Readiness Training in Window Rock, Ariz., July 9, 2013. SMASE-IRT is an Air National Guard-led, multiservice mission comprised of Active Duty, Reserve, and National Guard members from Army, Navy and Air Force components, focusing on deployment and real-world readiness training. This project will help prepare the service members for wartime missions in a joint-service environment, and simultaneously improve roads, area drainage and water lines, and update the school facilities and existing Hogans for the Navajo Reservations in New Mexico, Arizona and Utah.
