140th Wingmen,

This week I received the official notice from NGB that the 140th Wing was selected for the 2013 Air Force Outstanding Unit Award for Meritorious
Service between the dates of 1 November 2011 to 31 October 2013. During this period, the Wing received multiple "Outstanding" evaluation results,
successfully passed numerous readiness and compliance inspections and garnered a number of "Best Seen To Date" accolades in various programs and
units across the organization.

We accomplished all this while effectively flying 7,000+ flight hours, maintaining an aggressive depot modification schedule, deploying 383 combat
warriors, and conducting real-world training with sister service components to enhance training and combat preparedness.

The 233rd Space Group demonstrated flawless execution of its missions, providing error-free strategic system back-up and world-wide missile launch
detection and reporting.

The 200th Airlift Squadron provided the first ever C-21 combat deployment, executed 2,500+ hours of mishap-free flying, and was selected as the JOSAC's
Small Unit of the Year for the third and fourth year in a row!

The 240th Civil Engineer Flight supported numerous engineering and construction efforts across the Pacific theatre.

And let's not forget that all this occurred at the same time we had Airmen on the front lines of the fires and floods here in Colorado!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I could not be more proud and am continually amazed by all you do to serve our Nation and State. Keep up the great work. I continue to be honored to serve with each of you. You are the best of the best!

Well done.
