As we enter into the winter months, please be smart about how you celebrate. While this can be the most joyous time of year, it can also be the most dangerous as weather, short days, winter sports, and over-indulgent party goers can lead to unnecessary tragedy. Stay safe, stay smart and please act responsibly as you celebrate.

While the Holiday Season is meant to be a time of good cheer, it can also be a sad time for those who have lost loved ones during the past year, or during this season. The same goes for those who are separated from loved ones, especially those serving our nation far from home. Please keep those who have suffered the pain of loss or separation in your thoughts and prayers. Remember them and their sacrifices.

Finally, for some in the Wing, this will be your first Christmas Season as a member of the 140th. For others, this will be the last. Please know that for my wife Debi and me, nothing we have ever done can compare with the honor of serving as your Wing Commander. You are everything and more a grateful nation could ever wish for - it is a blessing to serve beside each of you.

May God Bless you, your families, your loved ones and all of our friends. Have a Wonderful Merry Christmas, a Joyous Happy New Year, and here's to 2012 being the best year ever!
