Colonel Luke Donovan is the Commander, 140th Mission Support Group, Colorado Air National Guard, Buckley SFB, Colorado. He leads 450 National Guard military and civilian personnel providing all personnel, communications, civil engineering, logistics, contracting, and flight line security operations in support of the 140th Wing’s state and federal missions and 1700+ personnel. Col Donovan was commissioned into the Air Force in May 2005 through the Reserve Officer Training Corps program at The University of Wyoming, and entered active duty in July 2005. A career civil engineer officer, he has served at the squadron, instructor, and Headquarters Air Force levels. He has deployed in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM as the lead RED HORSE structural engineer and PRIME BEEF Engineering Flight Chief, OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM as the Afghan National Police Operations Officer for Regional Support Command-Capital in Kabul, Afghanistan, OPERATION INHERENT RESOLVE as Assistance Director of Operations and Civil Engineer Flight Commander Kobani Landing Zone, Syria, United States Air Forces Africa as the 435th Air Expeditionary Wing Civil Engineer, and OPERATION SPARTAN SHIELD as Commander, 380th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE. Prior to assuming his current position, Col Donovan was the Commander, 140th Civil Engineer Squadron Colorado Air National Guard, Buckley SFB, Colorado.
