Chief Master Sergeant CHARLES W. POWERS III

Chief Master Sergeant Charles W. Powers is the Senior
Enlisted Leader of Manpower, Personnel, Recruiting, and
Services Directorate, Air National Guard Readiness Center,
Joint Base Andrews, Maryland. Responsible for the morale
and welfare of over 400 military and civilian personnel,
spanning geographical locations across the globe. Advises the
Director on comprehensive plans and policies covering all life
cycles of personnel management, which includes advocacy at
higher headquarters, end strength management, education
and training, resource allocation, and the services program
on behalf of over 108,100 Airmen.
Chief Master Sergeant Powers entered the United States Air
Force on active duty as a Civil Engineer Operations Manager
in 2000. He has served in various operational and staff
assignments around the globe and has deployed numerous
times. He deployed on three separate occasions in support of
OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, two deployments in
support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM and once to support
OPERATION DEEP FREEZE.
While serving in staff positions Chief Powers was responsible
for the mobilization of over 5,000 Civil Engineers in response
to contingency operations and natural disasters. On staff he
also served as the Special Assistant to the Director of the Air National Guard at the Pentagon, Washington D.C. In this Position he
directly supported the Director of the Air National Guard and Senior Leader engagements affecting more than 105,500 Air
National Guard members. Chief Powers served in Squadron and Group Senior Enlisted Leader positions. Prior to achieving his
current position, He served as the Legislative Liaison, Office of Legislative Liaison, Chief of the National Guard Bureau, Pentagon,
Washington D.C. Chief Powers advised the Senior Leaders on all congressional interest programs that relate to personnel and
readiness, force structure and manpower.
