BUCKLEY AFB, Colo. --
It's hard to believe that the holiday season is already here. I'm sure you're all looking forward to a long weekend and a hearty Thanksgiving dinner which you all deserve! We've had a great year so far and you have truly earned some time off to relax and recuperate so please take time with your families and friends now because our next deployment is right around the corner.
This time of year I am especially grateful for my family and friends. The holidays can be some of the most joyful times; although for some, they can also be some of the toughest. Whether it's financial issues, loneliness, or dealing with the loss of a loved one, the holidays can be a trying time. I ask that each of you keeps an eye out for your fellow Wingmen. We have had some tragedies in the Wing this fall, which just emphasizes how much we need to look out for each other all the time. And remember, there are several resources in the Wing if you need help; don't hesitate to call.
Director of Psychological Health, Ms. Rebecca Ferren, 303-358-9728
Airman & Family Readiness, Ms. Michelle Abarca, 720-847-9116
Also, please be safe as you are travelling, near or far. Allow plenty of extra time if the weather is bad, and as always, don't drink and drive. Have a plan before you start drinking, and if all else fails, call the Command Post (720-847-9955) and they will get you a safe ride home. It's not worth the risk of driving under the influence.
Thanks again for all you do and Happy Thanksgiving!
