BALAD AIR BASE, Iraq ? Maj. James Reeman, 332nd Expeditionary Fighter Squadron pilot, performs jumping exercises during a Cross Fit class held at the gym here, Jan. 22. Cross Fit is a program consisting of high impact anaerobic fitness exercises performed repetitively that target specific muscle groups for short periods. This program is being offered through the 332nd Services Squadron along with many other exercise classes designed to help Balad Airmen and Soldiers stay fit to fight in the deployed environment. F-16 pilot earns Koren Kolligian Jr. Trophy

Air Force Vice Chief of Staff Gen. John D.W. Corley (left) and Koren Kolligian (right) present the Koren Kolligian Jr. Trophy to Lt. Col. Peter Byrne during a ceremony in the Pentagon June 5. The trophy, an Air Force safety award, is named after 1st Lt. Koren Kolligian Jr., whose T-33 Shooting Star went missing off the California coast in 1955. The trophy is given annually to aircrew members who exhibit "outstanding feats of airmanship." Colonel Byrne, the 140th Wing vice commander, earned the award from an incident in June 2006 when he suffered a stroke while flying an F-16 but was able to safely land the plane 90 minutes later. Denver -- The Buckley Air Force Base Honor Guard stands at attention along with soldiers from Fort Carson, Colo., during the Colorado Rockies Military Appreciation Day Sep. 28 at Coors Field. More than 18,000 fans were treated to a fly-over by F-16s from the Colorado Air National Guard, a parade of soldiers from Fort Carson and by an all-service honor guard. “We are grateful and very thankful for what the men and women in our military do everyday,” said Jay Alves, vice president of communications and public relations for the Rockies. “This (event) is our way of showing our appreciation for what they do.” The Rockies lost the game 19-11 to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the last 2006 regular season game at Coors Field.
