Mr. Bart Blumberg, science teacher at Rock Canyon High School and Traditional Guardsmen with the Colorado Air National Guard, demonstrates how the equipment used by the Emergency Management team is based on the principles the high school students are learning about in chemistry class. Since the science department just learned about light and nuclear chemistry, Master Sgt. Jared Hiles, emergency manager, 140th Wing, brought in some chemical detection equipment that uses infrared spectroscopy and some radiation detectors to reinforce those lessons in Blumberg’s classes Sept. 23. F-16s return to BuckleyF-16s return to  ...
F-16s return to Buckley

F-16s from the 140th Wing, Colorado Air National Guard begin to return to Buckley Air Force Base July 12, 2014, slightly ahead of schedule, after spending approximately three months at Denver International Airport while the base runway was being reconstructed. Despite relocating their entire flying operations, the wing managed to provide uninterrupted support to their Aerospace Control Alert mission 24/7 throughout the transition to DIA and back to Buckley AFB. Construction on the runway will continue through September, however the airfield is back to operational status. (Air National Guard Photo by Staff Sgt. Nicole Manzanares)
