Falcon Air Meet 2008
A Royal Jordanian Air Force crewmember works on a Royal Jordanian Air Force F-16 Oct. 21 during the Falcon Air Meet 2008. The exercise is a friendly competition centered on the F-16 Fighting Falcon, the world?s only multi-role fighter jet. F-16 units from Turkey, Jordan and the 421st Fighter Squadron from Hill Air Force Base in Utah are competing in the areas of maintenance and flying operations. Members of the 140th Wing, Colorado Air National Guard, are judging the event. The annual meet, inspired by Prince Feisal Bin Al Hussein, special assistant to the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Jordanian Armed Forces, aims to improve relations between Jordan and its partner nations and the promote stability in the Middle East region. The country of Jordan and the state of Colorado are linked through the National Guard State Partnership Program, which link states with various countries in order to foster mutual interests and establish long-term relationships across all levels of society. This is the third FAM in history.
