140th Wingmen,

With the long Memorial Day weekend approaching, I'm sure many of you are looking forward to some time off of work and fun with family and friends. However before the weekend begins, I'd like to take a moment to remember the reason we recognize this holiday...to honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives in support of our great country. Many of them served before us, helping to shape our nation into the magnificent country we enjoy today. Some of them served alongside us; they were our Wingmen and our friends.

I feel extremely fortunate to live in the United States of America, and without the selfless individuals who have served in our military and put their lives on the line every day, America wouldn't be what it is today. I hope that you all will take time this weekend to remember the brothers and sisters in arms who we have lost along the way.

Additionally, Memorial Day marks the start of summer. I hope that you will all take time in the coming months to get away from work, enjoy the outdoors and time with family and friends. With our upcoming AEF rotation, the fall will be a busy time, so please make sure to decompress while we still can. If you ever feel overwhelmed and need someone to talk to, our Director of Psychological Health, Ms. Rebecca Ferren is a fantastic and confidential resource, 303-358-9728.

And as always, please make safety a priority. We can't afford to lose a single one of you, especially when it can be prevented. While participating in summer sports, wear a helmet, life jacket, or whatever the appropriate PPE is for the activity, and ALWAYS have a plan before you drink alcohol. Remember the Command Post is always available 24/7 to help you out, 720-847-9955.

I am proud to serve with each of you. Enjoy the beautiful weather and stay safe!

Sincerely,

Col. Floyd Dunstan
