140th Wingmen,

I'd like to personally congratulate our 140th Civil Engineer Squadron for winning the 2014 Colonel William L. Deneke Award. This award is given each year to the Air National Guard civil engineer unit that shows the most outstanding accomplishments and achievements. As the ANG winner, the 140 CES competed with all Reserve Component top CE teams and I'm very proud to announce they won the 2014 Society of American Military Engineers Curtain Award (Air Force Outstanding Civil Engineer Unit Award) as well!

Without a doubt, the 140th CES deserved these awards this year after accomplishing the massive feat of rebuilding our runway and aprons, which involved setting up the infrastructure for our temporary relocation to DIA. The runway was completed ahead of schedule and without a glitch.

In addition to spearheading this huge project, the 140 CES is also creating plans to overhaul hangar 909, and willingly volunteering for any task whether in the state, across the nation, or world-wide responding to combatant commanders. They were recently awarded the Key Volunteer Team of the Year for the Family Support program as well, which is one of our top priority programs.

Undoubtedly, our 140 CES is one of the best civil engineer organizations in the Air National Guard and I'm proud to see them being recognized for their top-notch support to this wing, the State of Colorado and the nation.

Respectfully,

Col. Floyd Dunstan

Colorado Air National Guard
140th Wing Commander
